       @quillmatiq @anewsocial giving $1/month via Patreon. I really think that if everybody could work together to make #WebMonetization (an open fiat transfer protocol) happen, it would help the entire fedi. we are the people who really don't want a middleman.I think fedi isn't averse to money, but we want a way to automatically give directly and regularly, not see ads or paywalls. to be able to build apps that support media creators based on time played etc. for it all to feel more organic.

       We're still majority self-funded. @snarfed.org has been donating his money for Bridgy Fed infra since before we started the non-profit, and I've been donating other organizational costs since.We've also both been (happily) full-time volunteers on the project since December 2024.        Working on @anewsocial has been a dream come true, and I can't begin to say how lucky I feel to be able to work with @snarfed.org.But if we want this to run for the long haul, we need to start thinking about where the money is coming from.If you can support us, we'd truly appreciate it 🫶🏼 (3/3)
