The termination of protections followed an Aug 1 appeals court ruling on legal challenges to Trump’s directive. The order, signed in late March, directed 22 agencies to ignore contracts for employees in specific #unions. Last Thursday, #Trump signed a 2nd EO stripping #union rights from thousands of other employees at 6 additional agencies.#law #labor #unions

#Trump said that the affected workers had roles that touched on #NationalSecurity, & that provisions in their #labor contracts could interfere with his policies being carried out. @Nonilex ...it is indeed a joke, and a despicable act on Labor Day. The affected union members would seem to have the right, maybe the obligation, to withhold their services pending reversal of such an obscene directive. Power in numbers, as it were.

The American Federation of Government Employees [#AFGE] has filed more than a dozen lawsuits related to the federal work force.
