       The other day, when I talked about food insecurity, everyone really stepped up and helped out, and my family and I really appreciate it. We got several days where we didn't have to worry where our next meal was coming from.Unfortunately, I'm back again to ask for more help. We have a high electric bill, $380, with a cutoff date of the 4th, thanks to window units and the Texas heat. We also have a car payment due on the 8th of $568, again, with the threat of having it taken away if we don't pay by that date. And we are down to $9, which won't even cover dinner for the four of us.Any help you can offer is much appreciated. It may seem small to you, but it's a big deal to us, and small kindnesses add up.        @mutualaid Also, an update:Good news first: The insurance has approved the payout for 3 months, which is almost how long we have been without an income. We are waiting on the check.Bad news: The check will be significantly smaller than my normal pay rate. It won't come before our electricity is cut off, and maybe not before our car is repossessed. And, contrary to what I remember being told by HR, the short-term disability is only for 12 weeks, which means there won't be another check coming, I may not have a job to come back to, and I may lose my coverage as a result. The doctors still haven't figured out what's going on, which means I'll be paying out of pocket for any tests if that happens.
