"Making love" used to be a euphemism for romancing one's lady. At some point, it changed to mean "having sex."That small fact actually says a lot about the decline of Western Civilization.

@RandomDeamon I think it must have been somewhere during the 60s it changed over. I've seen enough movies and shows referencing it through the 50s to think the "romance" angle was still familiar to most folks.

@DaddyO this is a good observation. My lovely bride of 32 years has always referred to it as “ making love”. I think that is very telling. Side bar- Never i mean never has she used the “ f” word for that marital act. She uses it all the time everywhere else tho 🤣
