READ THE RULES BEFORE NOMINATING, NIGGERS!Nominations for Season 3 of the #BestVidyaGirlContest are now open! You can nominate up to 3 girls, your #1 pick receiving 3 points, the 2nd pick getting 2 points, and girl number 3 receiving just 1 point. Be sure to mention what game they are from. If you don’t explicitly rank your nominees, I will award them points based on the order they are listed. You can however ensure all 3 girls are awarded 2 points each by explicitly requesting it when nominating them. You can also request that your #1 pick receives 4 points, while your 2 other picks only receive 1 point each. If you only nominate one girl, she automatically gets 4 points, if you only nominate 2 girls, they get 4 and 2 points respectively. You can also request that both girls get 3 points each. Rules are largely the same as previous years: Only girls that first appear in video games (visual novels do count) are allowed, not any old anime girl who appears in a video game adaptation of an anime. If there’s a case you consider borderline, you can make your case, but you better have some compelling arguments ready.All girls from last year’s tournament are eligible, except for Samus (who has been promoted to post-tournament Superboss), as well as Zelda, Pyra, Fio Germi, Misty, Etna and Tifa, who have all already qualified.No fatties, no trannies, no traps and no dickgirls allowed. Lolis are of course allowed, as are AI girls (the likes of Cortana and even GLaDOS are eligible). Monster Girls are allowed, as are certain kinds of Furry girls (like Krystal), but NOT generic female variants of fictional animals (so no “Female Gardevoir”). Whether you nominate and vote based on looks, personality, how much you like the game the girls are from etc is all up to you of course.Also, you CAN nominate a pair of girls as one character if they’re pretty much always depicted as a pair, FUWAMOCO-style, think the likes of Blue Archive’s train twins and Caroline & Justine from Persona 5.Very few girls will directly qualify for the tournament through this Nomination Thread, which is mainly made to find worthy picks for the upcoming Qualifier Poll, which as usual will be absolutely massive. Depending on the circumstances, I’m going to allow 1-3 girls to directly qualify on the basis of Nomination points. For the remaining girls, earning lots of Nomination points will result in bonus votes being added to the final Qualifier Poll tally, which WILL be decisive, so you have every incentive to Nominate your favorite girl even if she has already been nominated by several other people. FYI, the Qualifier Poll will also feature some girls who didn’t get nominated, though such hand-picked Wild Card selections will NOT receive any bonus votes whatsoever, having to 100% earn their tournament spot in the poll. We do now have a franchise cap in place, only 3 girls per franchise can qualify for the tournament. HOWEVER, this year I will actually allow a single franchise to potentially have as many as 4 girls enter, should that many reps manage to qualify. If multiple franchises exceed the 3 girl-limit, the one girl who gets in will simply be the one who netted the most points, no greater estimate of overall franchise strength will factor into it. BTW, there are two specific franchises that I think will break the cap this year, it will be interesting to see if my suspicions are borne out…Nominations will be open for 24 hours, or maybe a bit more than that depending on how busy tomorrow will be for me. I will make it very clear when nominations have been closed however.And with that out of the way, it’s time for you to Nominate your 3 favorite vidya girls!

You can nominate 3 girls from the same game if you want - HOWEVER, there *is* in the tournament itself an absolute 4 girl cap for even the top franchise, and for the other franchises it's a 3-girl cap, so you'll want to consider that if you plan to be tactical about your nominations

@ChristiJunior Two questions:First, what about "multimedia projects"?Like, where the game isn't really an adaptation of the anime, or vice versa, but rather everything is kind of made together as one project. Love Live is the first that comes to mind. iDOLMaSTER would probably go under this umbrella, too, even though the game definitely did come out before the anime.Second, this one might be a stretch, but what about the Lain PlayStation game? It's not really an adaptation of the anime, but its own story in its own continuity.

You could call it a dating sim but that's selling it short tbh. The game pretends your console if a communication device to an alternate world and you help Ion piece together her past. Your interactions with feel really natural. Its hard NOT to fall for her if you play it. :love:

@ChristiJunior @echo Idolmaster should count IMO since they have a shitload of games.With Love Live the games felt more like an afterthought. All it had was a very basic gacha rhythm game and 3 really crappy Vita games that were a poor mans Project Diva.IIRC only the Nijigasaki girls were game original characters.

But I'm willing to consider the girls on an individual basis (did they first appear in a game, are they primarily associated with games rather than other media, that sort of thing).Basically, if a girl could plausibly be nominated for an Anime Girl Tournament, she doesn't belong here.

Think it was called "Ciel nosurge in English" (CnSiE), but I can't find it on jewtube anymore. :blobcatsnapped: They made some experimental gameplay decisions, like a barcode scanner mechanic and game events based on real-world time. Truly a different era (BG - Before Gacha).
