       A foolish son is ruin to his father,  and a wife's quarreling is a continual dripping of rain. -Proverbs 19:13Another observation from Solomon, and one that is self evident. No sane man wants an idiot son or a nagging wife, and the men who have these can tell you that it's a 0/10 experience.So why is this in Proverbs? Because Wisdom asks you to interact with it. So it is bad to have a foolish son and a quarrelsome wife; we should ask what must be done to prevent such a painful arrangement. The wise man reads this, and evaluates how he is raising his son. He asks what he is doing for his wife's moral formation, whether he is leading her to righteousness and peaceful relations with him. A wise woman reads this and recognizes that she doesn't want to be that kind of wife, so she asks herself whether she has been a pain to be around. A good son reads this and concludes that he must be wiser for his father's sake. A bad family situation can ruin a man's life, and in turn it will ruin the rest of the family. They may be wealthy, they may be respected, they may even have a great religious life, but if they are not treating the man of the house right then these things will give them no happiness. His misery will feed into their misery, and so the cycle goes. Solomon invites us to look at our own situation and make changes accordingly.

       @SneedsterSpeedster Not a bad choice. It's even better when you take the historical context into account and find out where Solomon gets a lot of his wisdom!
