       @i0null @campuscodi i mean that is a thing that “can” be done and it’s a test flight qualification on most platforms to certify for flight. EDIT: they didn’t need to the plane had water in the hydraulic system, that froze, ain’t no off/on gonna fix that. But not following a technical directive that could have saved the aircraft, somebody ain’t gonna have a job.

I didn't know the details but if i recall correctly this happened like a day before the whole DC helicopter/plane incident. i don't know anything about figher jets,  or piloting in general other then basic flight sim. but i assume you wouldn't want every system restarting specially with something that's aerodynamically unstable.https://edition.cnn.com/2025/08/27/us/alaska-f-35-crash-accident-report-hnk-ml

       @i0null @campuscodi i used to work on EA-6B prowlers great to have old chassis, but cutting edge electronic warfare radios, hydraulics are hydraulics, add more tech they just will fail weirder. failing to ground service mode is WILD. But that’s mentions in the article of a 2024 maintenance referendum that if the were using checklist and not yoloing it on a radio call, could have saved the plane, thus somebody ain’t gonna have a job. You don’t yolo troubleshooting with someone’s life.
