If anyone's looking for a good place to find third-party packages for #slackware, then SlackBuilds.org is the place to go for that. Think of it as the Slack equivalent to Arch's AUR, as both require compilation from source for every package IIRC.

@tsubo Make sure to use sbopkg as well, as that'll save you time having to download binaries in the case of Nvidia modules and drivers, which are seperate btw.

@dcc @tsubo to be fair for a long while I used to manually grab and run slackbuilds like a caveman

@sicp @tsubo You can, but most cases sbotools just makes it faster. Also ponce's curent slackbuilds are important to set when you use current.

@dcc @sicp Good to know. If you want SlackBuilds for slackware-current, go for ponce's fork. Pair that up with sbotools (both with stable and current), and your Slackware experience will be more hassle-free, I'd say.

@dcc Of course, as the drivers require the modules.

@dcc You could do that as well to save time, possibly along with not having to manually blacklist nouveau (through a package in Slackware's case.)

@tsubo @dcc @sicp I'm using 15.0. I've been using sbopkg forever. Is there any benefit to using sbotools? I don't think I've used it before.

@veinglory @dcc @sicp I've used sbopkg for quite a good while, but once dcc told me about sbotools, I made the switch. I also use 15.0 as well.
