People who have a background in tech keep intuiting that "AI" cannot survive because it is being sold "at a loss" on such a big scale, and consumers would probably not use it if meant paying its true cost.I think the flaw in this reasoning is it overlooks the most plausible route to profitability for "AI": Governments will simply give "AI" firms money, paid for with taxation.https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/aug/23/uk-minister-peter-kyle-chatgpt-plus-openai-sam-altman( Link via @Firesphere )

@mcc @Firesphere yeah unsustainable business models have been propped for years and years. Uber wasn't profitable until 4 full years after IPO

@grumpasaurus @mcc @Firesphere yeah the whole silicon valley VC model runs on unprofitability, if you are profitable you are not growing fast enough.
