If the EU starts demanding ID verification my plan is to talk toba lawyer and have them figure out what's the least invasive thing I can do.

@raccoon oh I see. I'll probably finally set up a Tor onion site for my server for Europeans using the site even though I doubt anyone is checking.

@raccoon Which really wouldn't be much because you have to ask for ID because you would have to follow the law or just host your stuff outside of the EU

@snow_of_the_mountain@techhub.social Depending by what the requests are I can do the same thing @gabboman@app.wafrn.net is planning. He wants to have a video call where the user verifies but he records only audio where he says "User X is showing me ID for verification".If that is enough, good. Hell, maybe I can get away with even less.We all know this is not to protect the children, this is to have record of citizens. So the least I have to do to comply the better.

@raccoon @gabboman It really isn't to protect the children I myself buy most of my hosting and domains anonymously with XMR nothing identifiable attached to the ones I want to be anonymous. The countries that want to sue me for not complying with their dumb ID verification laws are gonna have a bad time trying to figure out who to sue in the first place. I'm sorry you're having to deal with it though

@snow_of_the_mountain@techhub.social @gabboman@app.wafrn.net I was not aware some places allow you to buy hosting anonymously with xmr, can you tell me where?

@raccoon well rn I'm using https://kyun.host/ they seem fine. support is kinda slow but very helpful and they do give credits for downtime. They do also allow almost anything as long as it's not illegal

@snow_of_the_mountain@techhub.social What about the domain though? It's good to have a server anonymously but if the domain can be traced back to me it's useless

@raccoon there's https://njal.la/ I'd be careful with them though they do steal domains if it doesn't align with their views I haven't had any problems with them but that's because I host rather tame stuff and nothing worth to steal. There's other providers but they don't take XMR they take Bitcoin http://porkbun.com/ will take Bitcoin and I think a few other crypto currencies
