Announcing a Breakthrough in Magnetic Data Storage: the Floppy Drum.Tired of old, slow floppy disks? They use only one or two heads, which must be repositioned when accessing different tracks. The Floppy Drum has a head for every track, completely eliminating seek time.To enhance performance of swapping systems, the Floppy Drum fully supports writing one track while reading another.Floppy Drum substatems are available immediately for IBM and Burroughs systems, with more to follow.

@brouhaha I so want to build something like this. one head per track might be hard to do, but you could at least get 4 or 8 in there

@xssfox @brouhaha that's what I was thinking, yeah. I guess the trick would be to combine multiple heads per arm with multiple arms, to be able to stuff enough in there

@foone @brouhaha You could get a 24 track tape recorder and run a tape loop through it.
