@nomebullyyou @judgedread I suspect most of their energy is going to go towards trying to keep the Democrat party from going the way of the Whigs for the foreseeable future. So much of their infrastructure is smashed and fragmented, not nearly enough money coming in, no leader, their narrative has been rejected, and the L's are hitting them in the face so regularly now they don't seem to have time to catch their breath and regroup. There's still clumps of them out there where they hold some power, but it's restricted to their own immediate domain. The interlocked self supporting network they had is down, if not completely destroyed. The Borg are powerful, but significantly less scary when individuals are cut off from the hive mind.

@judgedread I can claim some authority on this, without being specific, and I can tell you that there is disillusionment among the adopters. It's a mismatch of promises and expectations to initial results. Typical for any new class of product. It doesn't mean the tech doesn't have huge potential.

@AlpineEnjoyer The 'AI bubble' notion is what I reject. Progress is too fast and there are already useful products being sold. If we get no further than effective expert systems and agents that will be a massive cash cow, and it will replace quite a few expensive employees who need health insurance.

@judgedread Another angle from Team A is that A.I. will bring the employment situation to an immediate crisis point, while at the same time obviating the apparent reasonability of the "we need immigrants to do the jobs Americans won't do" horseshit at the same time. It will be difficult to continue stuffing these animals into western countries if corporations do not have a dangling carrot waiting for them to keep them here. @StarProphet This.If the US relinquishes AI the Chinese will take it to its ultimate conclusion. Assuming no plateau - and the results of Alpha Go indicate that there is no barrier to superhuman performance - then China wins the future. Also the top US AI guys might defect if ZOG doesn't imprison or execute them first.
