I'm guessing ID3 tags don't allow fractional track numbers.I can't have a track be number 14.75

I'm working on a script that downloads a podcast and applies proper id3 tags and renames the files, so I need to apply valid data so that music players will handle the songs properly but the problem is that they have decimal episode numbers.

ARGH they mislabeled an episode so I have two S2E2s, because one of them is really S3E2

OKAY I have released a very limited use tool:https://github.com/foone/KillJamesBondMP3It is designed to help you download patreon episodes of the podcast Kill James Bond! (that you have to subscribe to! it doesn't help you pirate them!) and it'll rename the files and ID3 them so you can listen to them on your phone.

@foone Silly question: What does this do differently then just downloading then from the RSS feed (and why not just do that instead of using a Patreon downloader?)

@Canageek this works with an existing patreon downloader, but it names the files better (and sets the id3 tags appropriately)This basically only exists because the official files that you'd get off the RSS are badly named and don't have id3 tags, making them more of a pain to stick in a music player.

@Canageek oh as for why a patreon downloader instead of rss: so it can get the private files if you're a patron.

@foone Sorry, I meant the per-person private RSS that Patreon gives you. It seems like that would be easier to use, as you'd just have to paste a URL in.

@Canageek didn't know that was a thing. in any case, you'd still need to download them, I just used an existing tool so I didn't have to write any code to grab the raw mp3s

@foone Fair fair, not sure if that would have better tags; they show up fine in my RSS reader, but it might be drawing from the XML
