If you only remember one thing about Epstein's accomplice to child sex trafficking Ghislaine Maxwell please remember this:She isn't just implicated for "finding girls" she was not just a facilitator of these crimes. She also *participated* in the sexual assaults physically. She is every bit as guilty as he is. I can understand not wanting to read about the details. I kind of regret looking myself.

You can find tapes of victims talking about how much she scared them, how she coerced and tricked them. The victims are clear. And this is why she was convicted and given a harsh sentence. Not that it looks like she will serve it now.

@futurebird when people tell me to avoid reading the court transcripts I believe them. A mistake made only once....

I'd also like to note that in the interview Maxwell contradicts Trump. She says she "never recruited from Mar a lago" But Trump said that Virginia Giuffre was "stolen" from his spa there as a teen by Epstein. In her own words Virginia told us that it was Maxwell who did this. Lies. Lies. Lies.

I listened to the rest of the tape. One of the things that bothered me most was how Todd Blanche, the deputy AG from the DOJ described Jeffery Epstein's crimes as "allegations" "There are a lot of allegations about him" -Todd BlancheTodd Blanche isn't the defense attorney in this conversation. He is the government. And Maxwell was found guilty by a unanimous jury. It feels like laying the groundwork for a pardon.

@futurebird It's as transparently a quid pro quo as Epstein's death was a murder. Both the ruling class and the media have decided that the people are so gullible that they can be presented with implausible denials without consequence.Of course they're looking for the outer bounds of that impunity; genocide apparently is mostly okay, so what about raping thousands of children? What can we get away with? they wonder.

@shufei It's in *some* media if you look but I don't feel like they are making a big enough point of just how much she was involved.

Both the president and the victim, Virginia Giuffre, agree and are on record saying that Virginia Giuffre was taken by Epstein from the spa at Mar a lago. That's why when Trump said she (and other young girls who worked in the spa) were "stolen" (Trump's word for it) it was such big news. Then you have Maxwell saying she didn't do it as she sits in prison. Is anything that woman says worth anything? I don't think so.

Of course Trump says he had no idea why the girls were being "stolen" by Epstein... then later is quoted in a paper saying how much Epstein liked women "on the younger side" with admiration. So, I do not believe that Trump didn't know why they were taken. Did Trump participate in crimes? I don't know. I don't think anyone in the public could know, but if we had the files we might be able to find out.

He knew exactly where those teens that disappeared from his spa went. And he didn't do anything about it, didn't contact their parents, didn't call the police, nothing. Just let Epstein have them and AT BEST pout about having to find new staff. At worst? Well.

@futurebird Honestly, when two liars of this caliber contradict one another, I think witch ducking is the way to go. Not to get to the truth, because that seems impossible, but just because.

@futurebird even if we could trust what she says (as in, she were not deliberately lying), she clearly has a terrible moral compass and her saying she didn't witness "inappropriate" behaviour doesn't mean anything at all... 😡

@ale_antpower Yeah, that struck me too. How would she know what is "inappropriate" ?

@futurebird I also agree that Maxwell's word doesn't mean sh*t... Let her stew, and be extremely miserable in her college dorm, jail cell... I really wish nothing but the worst for Maxwell, along with Donald Doofus...
