@nomebullyyou Taoism is pretty easy just go with the flow (control)Think of it as going with the control of gods, heavens or people. While taking the least path of least resistance.Taoism does not ask where the flow comes from just that is heavenly rule and you should not go against it. @Stahesh I love Taoism and I thought this was hilarious. Taoism seems to describe the garden of eden before the fall, ie before knowledge of good and evil. I also love how Taoism asserts that the existence of virtue is a defect because it signifies the existence of unvirtue; you get both when you get one. And I was in love with it when it says that if you have a container, you must cut holes in it to use it; it is empty space which makes them useful. Your description of Taoism is very good.

@Zeb Yes, the Tao being convenient for our little adding machine brains to understand like it's purslane or the quadratic equation is obviously absurd to folks who know a little about the subject.

In the extreme, that is equivalent to death. So while we may recognize enlightenment, we must choose to be unenlightened if we wish to participate in the world.

@cjd @nomebullyyou @Stahesh that's the thing - being unenlightened, even to the point of overt mental illness, can result in tremendous material gain. not just wealth, but status, accomplishment, an ego that believes itself worthy or even greatits arguably a net loss for the person doing it, but the material gains can help millions. they can also harm millions, too
