@mint @pernia @kerosene @Forestofenchantment The problem with ZIL is that it does basically the same job as the wal does, so every transaction is effectively committed twice. But the fragmentation also makes sense. The other usual DB tune is changing the ZFS record size to the same size as the RDBMS uses to somewhat mitigate that.Turns out that running a database on top of a filesystem that already acts in many ways like a database isn't always straightforward.
