The average person has very little to leave to their children, and the parasites do everything they can to claw it away so each generation has to start from scratch again. Obscenely rich people's children are already rich, and they have tons of legal escape hatches to make sure no one in their smug bloodline will ever have to work again, regardless of some inheritance tax. They just want to make sure the average person can't retain a family home due to the taxes, or even get the measly remaining 100k from their parents' unused retirement funds. Disgusting.

It also disincentivizes saving and earning. Many people do think of the next generation, and work, earn, and save to take care of them, including leaving something upon death. People who think like this are the people who think there's enough of everything to go around because the shelves are always full when they go to Walmart. That never look past that or understand the processes that make that happen and how quickly they can go bare when those processes cease.

@sylus @dickflatteningenthusiast Every boomer I know has either pissed through their retirement accounts, basically plans to spens it all before they die, or didn't have anything to begin with. I know a handful rich enough to pass it down but they're not planning on passing it to children. I have no idea why a generation would act like this to their children... I expect nothing but being saddled with funeral expenses when my boomer parents are gone. They're probably the last generation that could en masse pass down wealth and instead most probably will flush it all away.
