What does everyone think about the possibility of the USA purchasing 10% of Intel?

I've been moving more towards AMD processors. Intel has had quite a few problems over the last few years. Part ownership by the government of USA likely won't make it better. #intel #amd

@matthew When it comes to desktops, the last 5 I've built, for myself or others, have been AMD. The longevity of the socket makes them very attractive.

I have built quite a few custom desktop PCs for clients. For the last five years or so, I've mostly been going with AMD. I have been very happy with that.

I am using Intel CPUs on most of my machines, but 7th gen and older, as I use a lot of old hardware for both personal and business use. Typing this from a Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny M710q with Intel i5-M710q processor. I wouldn't buy a new Intel CPU, but I happily would buy new AMD CPU and Graphics cards and I recommend them to my clients. I do sell a lot of refurbished ThinkPad laptops with Intel processors.

@matthew @laptopretrospective I built my first PC with a Cyrix 486sx processor. AMD bought out Cyrix and I tend to stick with what I know. Honestly, I prefer to use AMD systems since they're almost always less expensive than Intel chips. I also mined Bitcoin back in the day with AMD Radeon GPUs because they consistently outperformed NVidia's GPUs in hashing power.
