Take an example from the Netherlands:Guns / weapons are forbidden here, with very good reasons, we have about 2 bikes per DutchSo if something happens, we just bike away! 🚲 But yeah, start with removing weapons from the streets, we’ll talk again after that

@stux@mstdn.socia l am a progressive socialist Democrat and I recently bought a couple pistols after 25 years of leaving a deputy sheriff job in N Cal. I live in Texas and I absolutely do not trust Texas law enforcement or established government. If the Don't Tread On Me flag wasn't monopolised by the fascists, it would be an appropriate flag to fly IMO.

@stux One of the main reason to allow citizens to have weapons is to improve civil defence in case of invasion. During WWII Netherlands was able to defend themselves just for 4 days so I don’t think that we should follow your ideas.@wariat

@stux Its tough to agree, although I am a son of a Marine and married to a Cajun, whose Dad has more guns than the La NG, he needs them for self protection out on the bayou. These type of comments are good, yet I think if the wife and I owned one, after 33 years of marriage, we would not have made it to 20. Did I mention she is Cajun?
