@kkarhan @OpenComputeDesign @landley you're still stuck with proprietary baseband firmware, even with an open phone OS, unfortunately.

I've been wondering to myself recently, how can I possibly prefer proprietary mobile OS's over Android? Old OS's like BB10 and PalmOS were proprietary. Android is open source. What's wrong with me?Well, I've decided, first of all, it's totally reasonable to prefer them over iOS, which I absolutely do.Second, it's a sign I prefer Linux over Windows because it actually _works_, not just because "woo, freedom! Libre! I'm morally superior"(cont)

Third, there are also tons of old open source mobile OS's I sing the praise of. Like WebOS and Meego. I adore those OS's. Both because they were open source-y linux-y, and because they actually _worked_ and were _nice to use_And fourth, calling android open source is honestly misleading, almost disingenuous. Sure, it's _built_ on open source software. But a parking lot built on native burial grounds isn't a tribe.

@GLFC @kkarhan @OpenComputeDesign It's hexagon assembly, you can objdump -d it, especially using the old gcc/binutils toolchain from code aurora.
