       The *high* [I’ll say] court majority lifted a judge’s order blocking $783 million worth of cuts made by the #NIH to align with Trump’s priorities. #SCOTUS did keep #Trump admin guidance on future funding blocked, however.The court split 5-4 on the decision.        @Nonilex Tbis isn’t only about anti-DEI. What they effectively decided is that any administration can yank around research by cutting funding that was awarded under a previous administration. Without important continuity, research that isn’t bound by presidential terms can’t happen … which is most research, especially medical or technological developments and testing. In their hyper-focus on anti-DEI, they are eroding far broader foundations.

       @Nonilex It matters that the USA fascists had their Supreme Court into place before Trump was elected. People keep pointing to Brazil as 'why can't the USA do that'. It's because the Brazilian Supreme Court was not corrupted before Bolsonaro was elected.

       @Nonilex I hope doctors decline care to the SCOTUS monsters who have slashed NIH funding. Given that they're eugenicists, I suspect they think they won't become ill. But in the immortal words of that famous existentialist Joni Ernst, "we are all going to die."
