@Hoss @ElDeadKennedy Too many times I've had to clean my cast iron pans from extremely stuck food and it means I have to re-season them. Even if steel sticks occasionally, if you get it hot before you throw stuff in the pan it works just fine. It's also lighter, faster, and less annoying to use.

Cast iron is cheaper, nonstick, and more durableThe only disadvantage vs steel is if you want to make acidic sauces (eg tomato)But I have a stainless steel saucier for that
