       I got threatened and had to settle with some lawyer for a few hundred bucks because a catsitter torrented a movie on my wifi network.    Yet Anthropic just got away with torrenting the entire Internet and got away with it.Copyright is a fuck. The fact that the Bavarian gov allows cooperations to bully individuals is a disgrace to the rule of law

       Also the copyright lobby in Germany succesfully lobbied that copyright lawsuits are not covered by legal insurance. So you just need to cough up lawyer costs to fight this yourself. Even if you're insured against frivolous legal threats. They simply don't cover the category at all.

       if this happens to you. DO CONTACT A COPYRIGHT LAWYER. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TALK TO THE PEOPLE THREATENING TO SUE YOU. THEIR STANDARD SETTLEMENT CONTAINS ADMISSION OF GUILT WHICH MEANS YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY SCREWED NEXT TIME. AND  YOU CAN NEGOTIATE THE PRICE. DO NOT TALK TO THEM WITHOUT A LAWYER.
