So apparently this is how JOBS.NOW works.Any American, living in an American city, with tech skills, should be applying to these right now. Even if you have a job, even if you're not interested in leaving, this will cause SO MUCH TROUBLE for these scum companies.

Even if you're not living in THE city, if you're *theoretically* prepared to move there (for an excellent job of course) then you can apply. This is absolutely a free-for-all.

And one American can apply to 50 jobs, at 50 companies, and that's "50 Qualified Americans" on file, which means that now 50 H1Bs are stuck in legal limbo. It's gorgeous.

@cjd is this site following up and keeping track of people who applied so they can start putting the pressure on?

I don't know. I imagine there are ambulance-chasers swarming the area at the thought of digging their claws into some of these big juicy corporations for attorney fees, so most likely they're keeping contact info or something so that they can reach out.I'm not applying because I'm not in the US and have no chance of moving there so for me it's literally impossible, so I'm pretty sure that's the line.

Having been an expat for my entire adult life, I don't really have that much connection to America anymore and I'm more just cheering from the sidelines. But the US elites have been making the country a little bit worse every year since at least the 1970s. It's so depraved. There are places in America that even the poorest people in Europe would be astonished to see.So I don't think there is any amount of vengeance that will ever be enough, but I can tell you at this point Americans are like 1930s Germany level angry.

@cjd I don't think vengeance is good for one's mental health. But also, if those companies are bypassing the law by purposefully making those job offers difficult to find, then I agree they should be punished.I don't think the employees who had the H1B visas should be punished, I hope they can find a good job in their home country.

The thing about the US is not really about immigrants, they're just unlucky pawns here. The US needs the equivalent of a French Revolution to set itself straight. Everyone who presided over the looting of the country needs to be fed to the guillotine, entire bloodlines need to end over this. It needs to be so horrifying that for centuries people remember it as a cautionary tale of happens when the elites sell out the nation.

@cjd hm...I never understood French Revolution. As a Pole I'm proud of my country's tradition of peaceful transfer of power. From the nobles haggling the privileges out of from the king, and turning Poland into a parliamentary monarchy, to the commies negotiating with Solidarity leaders and holding democratic elections in the 90s, we never had to murder our elites (although Russians did it for us on multiple occasions, and that sucked).1/

Europeans can't understand why Americans - who aren't stupid, and who know what Trump is - voted for Trump. Then the exact same Americans turned right around and are now pounding the table to release the Epstein files, even against the wishes of Trump. What these two things have in common is they have both been represented as something which will cause the collapse of the US Government. That's it, that's why they're popular, that's where we are.

@cjd There was a time when Polish nobles did sell out the country, but not the nation. Since at that point they were the nation. Peasants didn't care that Poland ceased to exist and now they lived in Russia or Austria. Nobles did, but it was nobles' fault. So I guess our elites just never had the opportunity to fuck up as badly as the French did.I wonder what it's like for Britain - they never had a bloody revolution either AFAIK

All the Brits who were worth anything moved to America and it shows 😏 Some have argued that The French Revolution was not that necessary. The people who did it were Jacobin Communists with no clue about how to actually run a country, they killed the elites, then they killed each other, then Napoleon killed them and re-established order. This all came in the "optimistic moment" after the success of the American Revolution, so it was probably significantly just a revolt against the idea of a king...

Mixed bag. Some Americans are very genetically fit because they braved nature during the expansion and the less fit ones didn't make it. Others who came a little later didn't have so much to struggle against (Irish Civil War Mercenaries). On average better than average European IMO.

I don't personally gravitate toward violent solutions, if I was powerful in America I would put thought into how to solve this a different way - as I'm sure a lot of Silicon Valley guys are doing...But there is so much momentum toward civil war, I just don't find it realistic to think in any other way. The boomers insist on everything being given to them until death, and insist on staying hippies who refuse to take responsibility. The millennials and zoomers are stuck in a nightmarish great depression scenario, and anything they try to do for themselves will be banned and sued out of existence by boomer regulators. There's no negotiation because the kids don't have any cards to play except "burn the motherfucker down".
