They are real. But they aren’t blue like that. They only have a bluish hue when unripe. They are yellow with cream flesh once ripe. My grocery store was selling these plants. I considered getting some for my greenhouse, but I don’t need another project right now.

@KiKi88 The image is doctored like those chinese vendors trying to sell you blue roses, lol.I actually tried growing ice cream bananas, problem is banans are so damn sensitive to cold and require 18 months before they can fruit, so if you cut them back every winter you'll never get any 😭

They are a real variety but those pictures are photoshopped.They have a blue hazy look on the skin. I used to grow it, and these pictures are from my yard. I quit growing them as I hate the taller bananas, they're more of a pain to keep clean. You can see in the photo how easily the leaves get torn from the wind.

Grow yourself a much shorter variety you could insulate in the winter. Try a super dwarf cavendish, they mature about 3-4 feet.
