I can't remember seeing season 3 of Dark Matter the first time I watched the series, but I definitely don't remember a big cliffhanger ending followed by ... cancellation 😭 Imagine The Expanse being cancelled after 3 seasons. Or Orphan Black. Why? Why?!?I thought at least there were comics it was based on, and I could read those to get the find out how the story ends. But it seems there were only 4, telling the story of the first few episodes of season 1. Gutted.#TV #SciFi #DarkMatter

@strypey can't we just manage to cancel things before the last few episodes are done? Is it too much to ask?

@LovesTha TV industry cancellation practice dates back to a time when TV used to be mostly episodic. The exception being the "mini-series", basically what high-budget streaming shows now call a season. A long movie cut into a short series of 20-50min episodes. Anyway, in the horse and cart days of TV, the story arc was complete at the end of each episode, or mini-series. So cancellation meant you didn't get any more stories, but you weren't left hanging due to stories being left incomplete.
