@nyx @kittenlikeasmallcat @OneRatOneVerySmallTrenchCoat @missfeast the problem is every implementation of 'we should all just be chill without a relationship form' I've seen implemented is like the messiest polyamory 'relationship anarchy' where people have disproportionate attachments and commitments to each other so you get asymmetry of labor / support / etc and a lot of emotional wounds. as many problems as it has, the idea of relationships at least forms a baseline narrative for people to navigate their obligations and boundaries with each other. I think the 'let's all just be chill' model could work but it would require as much emotional maturity and intention as monogamy or polyamory, at least. and probably some underlying cultural baselines so people would be able to understand their expectations with each other.

@lunaticlucidity @OneRatOneVerySmallTrenchCoat @kittenlikeasmallcat @missfeast much like communism, it works in theory but not practiceactual response: I agree with what you're saying and I think that most people are simply not on my wavelength, which is to be expected because I've pretty much devoted my entire life to a kind of hermit-mystic maximalism that makes it inherently almost impossible for me to have intimate relationships with anyone. for a long time I was either in denial of this and then experienced an anguish over it, but now I'm completely at peace with it and don't feel lonely in solitude anymore.I don't like wholly reject the possibility of ever fucking and/or experiencing "romantic love" (whatever that is) again if I just so happened to ever know anyone on the same wavelengths as me -- and I even recognize that as imperfect as it often is in this fallen world we live in, women being amid themselves and loving each other is still a sacred thing because it's how the goddess comes to know herself. it's not something in itself that I have any feelings about anymore because the couple-form is an abstraction that has nothing to do with real life, but I do think that in many different ways most people have their own feelings on the abstraction that I find to be extremely tedious. so I more or less flatly reject it in general on that basis. the well is poisoned and most people don't have a capacity to love in a way that doesn't exist within some sad economy of lack.
