I'm worried about my two dwarf Samoan coconut trees. Looks like the invasive and destructive coconut rhinoceros beetles have gotten to the trees on the county golf course there miles south of me. My trees are a decade old and *so productive.* Like dozens and dozens of coconuts all at easy snatching heights. #hawaii #entomology #ecology

@brianvastag apparently you can use salt poured in the crown to stop them burrowing into the "leaf axials"; remove all dead matter from your immediate area (no clippings or natural mulch, i guess?) and if you want to go nuclear there's neonics and permethrin you can inject/apply (respectively).I wonder if DE (diatomaceous earth) would work on beetles, i've never tried.best of luck
