@Nonilex So, Trump wants California taxpayers to pay his federal government one billion dollars. California taxpayers should agree to do so only if Trump's federal government returns $82 Billion dollars of the $83 Billion dollars in excess taxes Californians pay to the feds but does not receive back. That's a fair deal.

It is. Most definitely. For Trump, though, it's a goal, one of the things he most wants to do. That needs to be made much more obvious.

@Nonilex Not a dime. UC should be looking to do more combined foreign, private and state investment for the research being done anyway. Since the US doesn’t want it might as well sell it to someone who does. Frankly a billion dollars of state taxpayers money invested in research where the state of CA keeps the patents and benefits directly sounds fine.
