I can't prove this, but I think my cat pica knows where the edge of my peripheral vision is. She silently sits *just* within my cone of perception, a silent loaf, watching. And I shiver "I feel like I'm being watched..."Then I look over and she's there. This is pretty effective at getting me to feed her, but I've only just now worked out what she's doing.

@futurebird It seems like the sort of thing it would be useful for a cat to know.

@futurebird you'd be surprised what things cats are capable of figuring out about us

@futurebird Could this be because you don't notice the times where she is fully in your field of vision, nor the ones when she is fully out of it?Like, observation biais?

@futurebird I had a cat who learned how to ostentatiously NOT beg for food. He learned that begging for food had the opposite effect. So he learned to Emanate Presence without begging or being loud or being obnoxious. And very clearly emanating energy of „I’m not doing the Bad Thing of loudly meowing or jumping on the kitchen table or trying to steal and I Am Here and this show of patience clearly deserves the reward of some of that food you have there”

@psentee It's OK. I will hunt us a bug and we can share it.
