I am so relieved! I saw a doctor today, and they actually took me seriously! I completely lost my shit and started sobbing in the middle of a conversation about a proposed follow-up visit in 2 months, while apologizing profusely and explaining that I'm just panicked about feeding my family because I've been missing work. One of the staff came back afterward, said she was in charge of short-term disability, and to have them fax the paperwork over and she'll take care of everything!!! I now have a doctor's note in hand and some actual hope that I'll be able to feed my kids and keep the lights on and the car payment paid without begging, if all goes well. And they even said they'd bill me for the copay!It's so nice to be able to share some good news for a change!I just wanted to take this chance to say thank you to all the people who have kept us going so far. So I'm tagging mutual aid, but this isn't a request. It's appreciation. You are literal life savers. Thank you!@mutualaid #MutualAid
