       @soapone Federated servers are still servers. I imagine if they are hosted in bongland they could go after the operators, or if it is too logistically difficult to go after -all- they could still impose harsh enough penalties on a few to create a chilling effect. For servers outside jurisdiction they could try to get ISPs to restrict access to federated services and/or ban VPNs, tor, etc.

       @soapone The police already operate a fedi server, WeCops. It's not like they're working with nothing.Also, we fit the definition of a user-to-user service under the Online Safety Act.
