       @alanb @redhero isn't it taught (incorrectly) in American schools that it helped end ww2?I also refused to watch Oppenheimer because it didn't go into the actual horror of what he helped create.

       @Haikyoneko @alanb I’m not American but from what I understand it’s thought that it ended the war and that saved more Japanese citizens than an invasion (which is unprovable and unhistorical as the war would’ve ended before then)Also the conventional bombing was a war crime as well.

       @redhero @alanb the Japanese were trying to surrender already.The Americans wanted to use the bombA: to test it after spending so much money on it.  Also, to test which type was best (they were 2 different devices)B: to send a message to the Russians.The UK carpet bombing German cities like Dresden was also a war crime.
