@coffi I may have got my start on plant-based substitutes but I certainly wouldn't recommend them, even though they have gotten better since I started over seven years ago. Compared to more whole foods, meat and cheese substitutes are mostly garbage.When people think 'vegan' they either think of the overpriced expensive substitutes or rabbit food. I get the feeling people still use 'vegan' as a byword for 'healthy'. Cigarettes, beer, fries and cola can be made vegan-friendly but they're not healthy by any means.What gets my back up are the over-engineered, unaffordable and unsustainable ways of following a plant-based lifestyle. Nature has already provided the answers. We don't need lab-grown meat or yet another coconut oil based monstrosity.One thing we all agree on is that we will not eat the bugs. Replacing our current animal protein demand with over 360 trillion bugs a year is hardly sustainable nor is it appetising.@meso
