wonder what is going to happen to SIG. seems pretty bad. What I don't really get though is in theory any design should assume the pistol should remain safe even if parts wear, so a new one with bad tolerances should still be safe.

So either it's a bad design or someone did something really bad with the parts to save money

@sickburnbro From what I understand, the designed tolerances are so tight that due to the quality being slightly underspec, a few pieces are able to move in ways that they aren't supposed to causing the gun to fire because the internal safety moves enough if the trigger is even a millimeter away from the expected resting position.

@sickburnbro P320 was an adaptation of the P250 which sold poorly. Guess they never figured out tolerances before it got popular. The P365 is essentially the same idea but smaller and it never had the problem.

@Codeki that's kind of what I heard, but spec like that seems poorly thought out because that means 20 years of use will end you up in that spot even if the quality was on.

@john_darksoul @sickburnbro That might be the most curious thing about this whole situation. Why is the 365 not seeing the problems that the 320 is?

@NitroDubs @sickburnbro It was designed from the bottom up as a striker gun. P250 was a hammer design originally and the P320 modified it to work for a striker.

@john_darksoul @sickburnbro The P250 was a DAO hammer fired gun in a striker fired world. I’m still wondering why it came out first.

@sickburnbro But yeah, the tolerances are so fucking loose that even his Taurus had better build quality.

@sickburnbro Ah, one guessed right about SIG ? Germanic mechanical idealism ?A luger is a reliable weapon, with a strong locking mechanism, until itgets a ding on the lip of a magazine, or a bit of dust inside, and jams.

@NitroDubs @john_darksoul so it really sounds like the answer is "bad design on the gun"
