       @tmray #faircamp vs #bandwagon vs #mirlo right. so which one can give the musician everything they want to allow for having their singular but independent "home on the web"?I think bandwagon is thinking ahead by also providing a fedi account. the next step imo would be all the sites together sharing some protocol that allows for a decentralized spotify. everybody using whatever they want, but with money flowing to artists. my dream.

       @wjmaggos Regarding "decentralized spotify": I can see the appeal in Spotify's convenience (or at least I think that is one of the least disputable aspects of why people like it), but beyond that I'd really caution to make "the Spotify model" (whatever that exactly is) the blueprint and vision for music listening culture and distribution online. E.g. even the central pay-per-stream concept: Do we really want that? Reducing the (monetary) worth of audio works to "number needs to go up", with all the ugly incentives it breeds? From my observations so far I'm getting the feeling this model isn't as beneficial in reality as it looks on paper, to put it mildly. Therefore I think the question in that vision ("decentralized spotify") has to be this: Spotify in what sense exactly? @tmray
