@afairmaiden The UK laws do not apply to you unless your site unless it is a business that specifically markets to people in the UK or manages a significant amount of user data originating from the UK.

@afairmaiden The UK's new OSA Act just took effect today. And many Brits ain't too happy about it. There's a petition going around that's already reached +200k signatures. Hopefully enough Brits will fight back enough to cause the Labour Party to think twice and repeal this nonsense law. (And hey, while they're at it, why not also get their 'fictional content' criminalization repealed too?)It shouldn't be affecting websites outside the UK tho.

@afairmaiden shit is hitting the fan. UK and in 12 months, the rest of Europe is falling soon. They call it the "Online Safety Act" but it is anything but. It's written in such a vague way, they can change the meaning. If you're a US citizen too, we're safe from it, for nowThis gets me riled up b/c I've been following what they've been doing to Japan over the past several years in censorship. But this year they've fullblown went out on everyone

@afairmaiden Not even the UK government knows what's going on, because they didn't think out how unfeasible this shit is in the big picture.
