i flashed DS lite FlashMe firmware to a fat DS NTR-CPU-20 motherboard that had V4 firmware on it, and now I can control the brightness levels like on a lite. The new maximum brightness is higher, and the minimum is lower. Also, mario in mario kart DS says "here we go" instead of "yahoo" during startup like on DS lites. And unlike a DS lite I can actually fucking service/repair fat DS'es reasonably.(normally, on a fat DS, the backlight is either "on" or "off." I can still turn off the backlight in Mario 64 DS's menus, but I'm not 100% sure how to do it outside of there)

@stsp i have three working fat DS'es and a spare motherboard :\And the backlight brightness adjustment thing only works on the NTR-CPU-20 models, as far as i can tell. not on CPU-10 and CPU-01. So I swapped a CPU-20 board into one of mine to test it.Displays are identical, since just swapping a motherboard made it work.
