       american engineering has certainly declined from its peak, which I would place between 40 and 60 years ago depending on the field, but we still have some of the best engineering talent in the worldit's simply being grossly misapplied, or left to rot

       @deprecated_ii I am not sure if you are into machining, but this guy on YT is very good. A great example of the engineering talent you speak of.This guy is a self employed machinist working out of his garage.
