       i'm trying to run this #debian trixie install as vanilla #gnome as possible. the only things i've changed so far are: caps => ctrl, turn off power saving anythings, install a hindi keyboard.what do people use for their dotfiles in this day and age? i feel like my 15-year-old symlinks thingy is probably not the right tool anymore, but i'm missing some git aliases i really need.

       @deobald I just put the whole home into git directly here, probably only inefficient when doing a full-blown git status which is rarely needed.

       @lanodan i also use evil operating systems so this wouldn’t fly for me
