Two gamedevs with whom I talk a lot came up with the idea to create a dedicated game for kids but with a set of rules we should abide: - There must be a lesson of good in the game- The game should be focussed on learning in a fun create way- No violence / gore- No lootboxes / gamblig / in-app purchases- One-time set price- Not making it addictiveI think that could be a very fun project!

@stux I have thought of making a math game where you earn "loot boxes" in the game to get cute hats for your characters, with the goal of getting kids addicted to math lol. But, yeah I understand, we don't want to exploit people any more than they're already being exploited by like literally everything else. u_uI'd probably just make a store for in-game-currency to unlock things.

@stux knowing you are Dutch, there's a great episode by Lubach on how certain shows for kids are made extra addictive. Considering they do a lot of testing on how to get children addicted, perhaps you could watch the episode and apply the exact opposite to prevent it from happening๐ in a few years time, I would love to introduce my kid to a "proven kid friendly and not addictive" style game.

@stux a limit on daily quests :-) if, after some point, there's simply nothing left to do - they'll quit and return the next day. That way you don't exclude anyone who takes a little longer to complete something ๐ ah, plenty of ideas I'm sure. I'm confident you'll make something nice if you decide to do it!

@stux I've dealt with an *educational* game platform which violates at least 3 of those rules ๐

@stux this is such a refreshing take. like a cozy game that actually respects kids (and parents). feels rare nowadays. are you thinking something story-based? puzzle?

The current idea is to go with a 3D RPG-ish magic based game for a few reasonsIf we include magic we can have some sort of (cute) combat agains the evilMagic is the most far from reality so easier to keep apart from things like swords or fighting that's not doneMagic can be used to solve puzzles in the world to progress

@stux I feel like this needs to be a set of Dogme-style rules for a whole slew of kids games.
