@Humpleupagus @Lars or ZFS if you really want those BTRFS features with actual stability.

I've never really had a need. Ext4 is fine. I've always thought of linux as a throw it up, throw it up again type operating system. I see this as a strength. As long as I have a backup of my home and access to repos, it doesn't take me more than an hour to spin up a build how I like it. I just find snapshots, etc., kinda excessive for something that can be repaired with little effort or time.

This is the answer.People bitch about Linux and then you find they're doing something gay like using btrfs.

       > But will I do if my system fails?Ummm... spin up a new build and restore Home from a backup. It's not hard.

@Humpleupagus @Lars I like using mirrors for the home lab. Drive failing? 3 way mirror till I can rotate the offending drive out.

@verita84 @Humpleupagus @vic @Lars Well, if Kent stopped being a loon, we could get bcachefs into the kernel getting all the benefits of ZFS with none of the licensing issues. But he may get himself booted out instead

       > Cannot open access to console ... Well then, what is this thing you are printing to right now? Silly computer. Configuring your initramfs can be an adventure. You must either compile-in or include drivers for whatever physical storage you intend to boot from. (had to look up btrfs ... hmmm ...) Yeah, what Humps said, just use ext4. Love the helpful advice, "See sulogin(8) man page..." from a system in which you cannot "see" anything.

@not_br549 @Humpleupagus @vic It required me to boot into a live environment to use btfs rescue. Like why couldnt that be available in the emergency mode
