Suddenly my Xubuntu machine no longer recognises an external monitor.I am using Ubuntu 24.02.2 LTS with XFCE 4.18, GTK 3.24. kernel version 6.8.0-64-generic.I tried the two monitors I have here:Lenovo 4K with direct HDMI, with direct USB-C and with USB-C with a dock between.Old Samsung 24" with USB-C via a Lenovo dock (monitor only accepts DisplayPort or DV which has). When I connect the displays using either of those methods, the Display dialog pops up so it recognises a display. But the dialogonly shows the laptop, the monitor goes to standby mode after a short while and another Display dialog pops up.What can I do? Did some driver update?#linux #ubuntu #xfce

@jerry1970 are you facing this problem after updating a new kernel? if you are, then try to boot on an old kernel :-)
