       @kaia you'd think this is already a standard application for any distro shipping with a graphical interface and default software

       @kaia I just install the Trisquel "app" installer.http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/pool/main/t/trisquel-app-install/It's the easiest one I have ever seen.It's actually just a even simpler GUI to synaptic.

       @twinspin6 @kaia >that video is corrupted on my endCan't make it compatible than this as it's x264.Redid the encoding with vp9, does it work ?If not then that's possibly due to federation issues CC @sunOtherwise have you tried a direct url ?https://media.shitposter.world/shitposter.club/02/7c/31/027c3110a469a46aca1dfaafcb1d6258e6ee41d8d74325a662cf940634980b33.mp4

       @twinspin6 @kaia @mangeurdenuage probably should be yuv420p and not yuv444p for web thats a common mistake. also x264+opus as opposed to x264+aac standard is iffy but who knows if thatd do anything

       @mangeurdenuage @kaia @twinspin6 thats not the program any computer can decode it browsers are just retardedly limited and strict in what they'll accept to play unlike other media players

       @ube @kaia @twinspin6 There's literally only two browsers left, ff and google.Just works in ff (even yuv444p).Idk about google.The only thing I'm certain that doesn't work in browsers are subtitles/flux selection, otherwise we probably would be able to stream .mkv files.

       @mia @kaia @twinspin6 >firefox does not allow 4:4:4 by defaultWhy does it work in 140.0.4 (64 bits) and 142.0a1 ?>because many hardware decoders don't support itI'm running on a t510,  2010 hardware.

       @mangeurdenuage @kaia @twinspin6 yeah it worked in ff for me too but i swear it didn't under super recentlyyou can usually get away with streaming mkv as long as the codecs are standard yeah but youd need js to parse subtitles if you wanted them

       @kaia @twinspin6 @sun It is very questioning that my 15yo hardware can do it with firefox while most of you people here have the latest hardware and most up to date software as I run FSF approved distro (Trisquel) which has 4 years of latency compared to other distros.

       @mangeurdenuage @kaia @twinspin6 @ube Ok y'all got me to play with my vms: ff, vlc and mpv on mint, ff, chrome, vlc and mpv on win10, same 10+yo hardware Plus ff on android (10 I think). Got another ubuntu machine but it's too weak to run web browsers, also don't have win11 or chrome on linux to test. Results: playback broken on ff on win10 and android, works on all others.
