       Yall, let’s drop the apostrophe!The second-person plural sucks. But English is a living language. Why don't we just drop the contraction and make “yall” a thing?!

       @stannard Kind of. Many words originated as contractions, but I guess written English has become more and more rigid over time. And now that autocorrect is constantly reverting yall to y’all, w’all just have to live with it!

       @meganmariehart English as a language seems to have many variations dependent on where and who is speaking it.To me ( yall or y'all ) are American speak, I have never heard it used by a Brit.However English is full of regional variations and you will hear different words for the same thing in the next town.By the way, Auto correct added an apostrophe into both of the bracketed versions.If you write your preferred version perhaps it will catch on, as Gotten and cheater seem to have done.Yall don't get me started !
