       Why is setting up a new phone such a dystopian fucking nightmare, EVERY DAMN TIME?Should it REALLY take an hour or more of my time to set up a brand new phone with a brand new number and absolutely nothing special about it?My youngest is getting his first phone tonight, and I am very grateful that he is my youngest, which hopefully means I'll NEVER have to do this nonsense again.I'm kidding myself, obviously--he'll need at least one more phone before he leaves the house. Damn it.

       @jimsalter some apps require OS updates, and smartphones have limited updateswhen a phone runs out of updates, you have to buy a new one

       @RyuKurisu @adrinux @relentless_eduardo @jimsalter Until fairly recently I was still using one with Android 6 from 2012.  The touch display became less and less sensitive and finally reached a point where I had to apply so much pressure that I broke it.
