ugh. Docker is a neat tool but I hate doing a development loop that involves it. having to build->run->kill every change gets old fast. and my projects are usually too short-lived to justify setting up something more complicated to autodeploy somehow.

@foone if your app inside the docker live in a volume shared with the OS, you can skip the docker build

@foone why did you decide to inflict yourself this docker pain?

@foone Yeah, containers are neat for having a different environment (be it either for the whole dev env, or just isolating the run) but that kind of workflow is just horrible. And reminds me of why I wish more CI would allow to SSH into failed jobs.

@SRAZKVT @foone I used to wonder why not every commit but given how much time CI usually takes to run, I'd much rather have git-bisect with it.Which effectively ssh access into the test environment allows, and is also nice when you catch an environment-specific bug in production and you're not sure what introduced it.

@foone part of the reason I prefer condaforge for development with specific deps / environments.

@foone it's like Java only several times worse.

@foone does docker-compose help with this at all, or no?

@foone Hm. I usually just mount the source directory into the container, but that may not work for you.
