You know what GG players want? More GG, with the occasional new character or mechanic. They don't like other games because other games don't have the right balance of stupid bullshit, deep mechanics, and willingness to do crazy stuff.So what did Guilty Gear do? It reinvented itself as a Fisher-Price playset aimed at Crunchyroll zoomers with gay personality disorders. Bridget got retconned to be trans. Testament got turned into a they/them genderblob.If every single legacy Guilty Gear player on the face of the Earth had banded together and told the developers to fuck off, nothing would have happened. I know this because that's basically what they did. Nobody wanted this. Nobody asked for this. But (due to both the game's marketing and the state of the world in 2021) the new game sold several orders of magnitude more, and now that's what GG will be forever.

Bloomburrow is the only set they've put out in years that had the traditional fantasy literature feeling which MTG used to carry in spades, but of course there's still gay shit in the world of cute animal people.Plus, 50% of all cards printed for the game are crossovers with other mass media series.
