@nicholas @mushroom_soup They're not great literature, but they got a lot of kids reading. They also have layers of message in the text that are good to imbibe; loyalty, doing the right thing even when it's difficult, a sense of right and wrong, self-sacrifice etc. Not new ideas, but a good retelling. They will always have a place in my affections for the time they were written when my son couldn't wait for the next one to come out and we read them together.
