When the two major party candidates support a genocide, should you vote for the one who has better policies on other issues?#EvanPoll #poll

@evan Yes, but... False dichotomy. And voting for someone doesn't endorse all parts of their platform.

@dneary how is it a false dichotomy? You can either vote for the one who has the better policies on other issues, or not, I think.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_dilemma

@evan Because there are rarely only two courses of action. To give just a few alternatives:* Vote for another candidate in the primary * Try to talk to your representative by phone, letter, or town hall to let them know how you feel * Abstain from voting altogether * Vote for a third candidate

@dneary You need to re-read the question more carefully; it's about *one* course of action, and whether or not you do it.* Vote for another candidate in the primary -- the question isn't about the primary* This is nice, but it's not about whether you vote for the one with the better policies on other issues* Abstaining is not voting, so this is "No".* Voting for another candidate is not voting for the major party candidate with the better policies on other issues, so "No"

@dneary I even left in some wiggle room, with "Yes but" and "No but" options. It's not even a dilemma; it's a quadrilemma.

@dneary maybe you think that you can vote for that person *and* not vote for them? Leave a hanging chad? Is there really another option I'm missing that's important to point out?

@evan I feel like if you have to choose between a party complicit in genocide and a party that will gleefully conduct multiple genocides at once, I humbly suggest you pick the first one.
